Isabel Gillies was a guest for Summer Reads segment for NBC's The Today Show with book critic John Searles on July 3, 2011 with her book of choice SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy SEAL by Howard E Wasden and Stephen Templin

John Searles: Isabel, you wrote a memoir that I loved called Happens Every Day that we talked on the show a few years ago and you have a new one coming out called A Year and Six Seconds. Tell me what non-fiction book you are loving this summer?
Isabel Gillies: Ok, this summer I just read SEAL Team Six
JS: That doesn't sound like a kind of book I would expect you to read
IG: I know, I know, but it's about, there's a very elite squad of the Navy Seals. It's the same squad that went in and caught Osama Bin Laden. This book came out at the same time. It's such a good read, because you get to see exactly how they train, mentally and physically.
JS: So if I read this, I'll be transported into the life of the Navy SEALS?
IG: Yes you will. You really will. You really get the real experience of it and it's fascinating.
JS: Alright, I'm sold. SEAL Team Six.
